My blog receives on average 18 hits a day on who is possibly the most hated Basketball Wives Reality Star!
Most of the hits were from people who wanted basic information on her. While other were inquiring about who is the father of her child, her arrest, and her modeling photos.
Kind of crazy.
It's a large amount of inquiries for a person who virtually appeared on the scene a few months ago.
I think the fascination over the stripper turned reality star has everything to do with her being cast in Basketball Wives LA and being charged with a child neglect case.
Here's the thing though.
Whether you like her or not.
She is getting more press than the other Basketball Wives LA. It's like the more hated she becomes on the show, the more popular her name is on the Web.
Word on the Web is that her child's father is a drug dealer and/or is locked up in prison. Her mother helped raise her son. She was a stripper at a club in Philadelphia too.
So, she hasn't exactly been living the life of a 'Huxtable Kid' from The Cosby Show.
Not sure how she is handling all the shade being thrown at her, but I imagine it can't be easy.
Now.
I am not saying that she didn't deserve the ridicule she received for neglecting her son. Because any mother who neglects their child deserves it.
Period.
But what I am saying?
At the end of the day, she is still a human being who makes mistakes. Just like everyone else.
She just made a really bad one.
Not to mention, being linked to the likes of Chris Brown who beat up Rihanna did not help her situation.
I've been watching Basketball Wives LA religiously and there were two specific episodes that struck a cord for me.
In one episode, one of the Basketball 'Ex-Fiances' meets with Draya to reveal that she knows about her child neglect case. Then Draya basically denied the allegations of her son being taken away from her.
Now.
There's a gray area here. Because I do not believe she denied being arrested for the charges. She only denied her son being taken away from her - meaning her son was back in her physical custody.
But who knows what was really said before editing on the show?
It appeared as though the Basketball Ex-Fiance believed what Draya told her though. Which is that the arrest allegations were not true. The report made about her arrest was a lie. They were trying to paint a bad picture of her because of her connection to Chris Brown...yada yada.
But nothing from the report was a lie.
She was arrested and her son was removed from her custody temporarily.
In another episode, the women were at what appeared to be a therapy session called a Passion Party, and each one of them had to pick a word to describe each other.
And well, one of the Basketball Wives (who has a laundry list of issues over her ex-fiance) used the word "worthless" to describe Draya.
I was shocked when I heard that word. Then the camera focused in on the look on Draya's face.
Sista Girl put on a good front! But I don't care what anyone says, her feelings had to be hurt.
The look on her face said it all.
I thought it was heartless. Ugly. Uncalled for. Nasty. Hurtful. Just completely out of line to say that!
I don't believe anyone has the right to tell another human being they are worthless.
It's one thing to call someone out their name. Tell someone they are 'acting' a way.
But to tell someone they are less than their worth? Is wrong on so many different levels!
I made quite a few comments about her child neglect case, like I am sure many people did as well.
But at no point, should any of us being judging her worth!
No. She hasn't been well suited to have a baby, just like many other women who have no business birthing children.
And, no. She probably shouldn't have custody of her son either.
But she does have custody of him, and she obviously isn't the best mother. But she is still his mother at the end of the day. She's young. Troubled. Flawed even.
But worthless?
Um, no.
That's taking it too far.
Even the most hated woman in the country, Casey Anthony, isn't worthless.
She's just one terrible individual who will pay for actions for the rest of her life. So. Everyone should leave that one alone too.
My personal take on Draya?
She's ghetto. Arrogant. Extremely guarded. Not a bad person. Puts up a good front like she doesn't care what anyone says. Appears intimidated. Seems to have a few groupie tendencies, but not a lot. Doesn't appear as thirsty for the lime light as I originally thought. Acts a lot younger than 25 too. But then again, maybe I am just old? Hmm. Because I really don't remember how you act at 25 anymore.
But regardless of what any of us think, she has become quite the household name.
And, well.
We all know how scandals and reality shows worked out for Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.
Just saying.

Housewives of Bevery Hills Husband Commits Suicide
SO SAD.
Taylor Armstrong's husband from the Housewives of Beverly Hills committed suicide!
Her husband's name was Russell Armstrong. He hung himself and left behind a letter in his Los Angelos home on Mulholland Drive. He was a 47 year old investment banker and venture capitalist who was being sued for 1.5 million dollars. Taylor filed for divorce from him on July 15 but he never responded to her petition for divorce. The saddest part of the story is that he left behind a 5 year old daughter.
I posted a quote that Michael K said about Taylor Armstrong's husband a couple weeks ago.
I would be lying if I said that he wasn't a strange and recluse man...because he really was odd! He never socialized with the other cast mates on the reality show. He was always working. He over-stepped Taylor a couple times on matters that concerned their daughter on the show for all to see. He even looked a bit Chester the Molester creepy. Taylor did not help his cause either, when she announced that he got physical with her a month ago.
So.
I thought it would be funny to post up the quote. Since Michael K hit the nail right on the head with the creepy description he made about him.
But now?
I feel really bad!
He was probably depressed and sick for a long time. We saw this. Then instantly attacked his odd demeanor through our blogs.
I am the Queen of making fun of people. I try to stick with people who are alive and healthy though. Making fun of someone dead or sick people is like waving Satan's baton in the air....it's just wrong.
This story sounds like a classic case of people living beyond their means or being affected by our economic crisis.
I just hate to hear when these people kill themselves and their families though. I cannot imagine how destressed one can be to take their own life or their family member's lives.
It must be bad though.
I will never understand why people do this though.
Is it a pride thing? A giving up on life thing? I mean what makes these people more sad than you and I?
Especially when there are children...parents...people who love you more than life that you leave behind.
It makes me want to burst out in tears and cry hard. It's such a terrible act. I mean this man was someone's husband, father, son, and brother...it can happen to anyone at anytime.
You just never know!
If you're as close to your family as I am? You may get a emotional too.
This story makes me wish that I wasn't fighting with my sister...rephrase what I wrote about my crazy ass cousin...my shady ex-boyfriend...these annoying males that mean no harm to me...my needy ex-friend...and Floyd "Act Like A Coon" Mayweather just in case something pops off and somebody dies tomorrow.
Sigh.
This feeling may change tomorrow, of course.
*I am going to be nice for now on though until I forget that I am being nice.

Guess Who's on Basketball Wives LA?
Draya Michele! Smh.
Not sure who she is?
Allow me to jog your memory!
I wrote about her child neglect case earlier this year in Kids Are Not for Everyone. Please read to learn about her charges, arrest, and connection to singer Chris Brown.
Okay.
Shaunie O'Neal is obviously trying to turn Basketball Wives into a franchise show by adding the Los Angelos cast!
We get it.
She apparently needed a groupie status chick equivalent to Royce to be added to the LA cast too. But she is REALLY trying to bring some drama to this cast by adding this chick!
I mean seriously?
I remember when Basketball Wives first aired, the whole country made a huge stink out of Royce being a dancer for a basketball team. A dancer who did not abide by the rule not to fraternize with the basketball players...and was called all sorts of groupies for messing with these players and not following the rules.
But um, hello?
This Draya chick blows Royce out of the water with her drama! Child neglect case. Stripper. Groupie.
We needs lots and lots of holy water for this chick! Royce is like a sweet baby deer compared to her.
Well maybe not that innocent!
Royce does have a law suit against her by her baby's daddy, Dwight Howard, for tweeting pictures of their son and talking about him to the media. That is and was her drama. The show tried to make her into a groupie because she likes to pop lock n' drop her miniature size booty - but it didn't pan out that way because Evelyn ended up stealing the Scandalous Trick Award with her drama with Tammi and her ex-husband Kenny Anderson.
Smh smh...and smh!!!
I am curious to see how they portray Draya. She is a very pretty young woman who probably already caught the attention of a few Lakers players. But I STILL cannot over her....not after what she did to her poor son! I am extremely sensitive about child abuse cases...and they have the nerve to put this chick on a reality show?
Wow...just wow!
This is not even laughable.
I wonder whose custody her son is in now? If he's still in her custody? When I leave this country, I am never coming back!!
Serious. I am still pissy about Casey Anthony being found not guilty.
This would only be further confirmation to me that our judicial system is a fucking joke!
I mean she really makes Royce look like a innocent school girl with a chastity belt. When we all know Royce isn't even close to it! You can tell she's got a little freak up in her. Remember her Luke's Peep show dance scene? When she was slapping her friend's ass? Um, yeah....I rest my case.
Well, I hope this Draya uses her reality show money to find her son a full-time nanny. She better NOT leave that poor boy alone again. She should be able to provide more than just frozen tv dinners for him now.
Hmm.

Why is Dating Older Men So Taboo?
After watching another episode of The Housewives of Atlanta there were many strong reactions to Cynthia marrying her husband Peter.
But why? Cynthia is not exactly a young Spring chicken. She's 43 years old and Peter is 50!
The things I heard the other night about her poor husband....about him being as old as the fossils in the Natural Museum of History (the location of their wedding)....to him pulling out his glasses to read his vows during the ceremony.
Just wrong!
Ah, yeah. We need to fall back for a moment before we judge the man.
We don't know what Old Man River is working with?
And to be frank, if he's a good man...I would take a partially blind brittle boned man any day over these Lil' Baby Waynes out here...running rampid. He's not a bad looking older man either, and he appears cool and down to earth too.
So. Go about your business, Cynthia!
Don't mind any of these haters lurking around you.
Now. If it were my man and I found his stash of depends in the bathroom....AND he starts playing The Isley Brothers too often. Then we might have some problems. But if he's young at heart, in good shape, and has a great personality...he is a keeper in my book.
Older folks need love too!
I am curious? If the issue everyone has with Peter is the fact that he's an older man who caught himself a beautiful younger model? I mean...I will not lie. I was surprised when I learned they were a couple because I picture Cynthia with a man like her child's father...Leon Robinson. Remember Lela Rochon's love interest in Waiting to Exhale? Yes, that's her child's father. Or the fact that he borrowed $10,000 from her to fund his failed restaurant. What ever the case may be, like my friend mentioned to me...it's not like Cynthia funded his gambling habits, she funded him in a business venture...and for the man she loves at that and there is nothing wrong with this.
If there is anything I can find wrong with Cynthia and Peter....it is that she is too tall for him. It irks me when I see tall women hovering over their short men. It makes them look like treasure trolls, in my opinion. And yes, if you are the same height as your man...you are too tall. Because once you put those heels on, you'll be staring at the top of his head, like Cynthia, all night. Not cute.
Of course, this is coming from a woman who is all of 5'1 with a Napoleon Complex...so, do what you will with my warped and bias opinion...but you will never see me with a man the same height as moi.
Personally though? I am 'pro' women who like to date older men. I mean, why not? I am an advocate for women who want to date who ever makes them happy, period. My motto is 'get it in, where you can fit in' because your goal should be too pursue happiness with whom you please!
Now. I generally date men older than me...but only 2 to 8 years older than me, but never anyone more than 10 years older. Oh, and I believe there is a huge difference between dating a man who is 8 years older versus 12 years older. What I notice about the ones 12 years older...the closer I push to 30. The age difference is not that serious. There are some attractive older men out there who stay in the gym more than younger men. And more importantly, they possess a confidence and swag that these Lil' Baby Waynes do not have, period. I think it's the sort of thing that just comes with age too, but it's a very attractive quality.
So.
I say good for Cynthia, and carry on now!

What Chilli Wants
I caught the third episode of What Chilli Wants on Vh1 the other day.
One word two syllables: QUOTA!
She has a lot of nerve coming at these guys she is dating, the way she does. The last episode she basically goes out on like four dates with two guys...then her matchmaker found photos of one of her two dates on a motorcycle with another girl..so she asks both if they are seeing anyone else.
[blank stare]
Do I sense a stalker?
I am interested in knowing how her matchmaker got a hold of pictures of her date on a motorcycle with this girl. He isn't exactly famous...so how did they get these photos? Her and her matchmaker knew their asses were crazy too, because they were trying to decide how to approach the topic of the photo with her date without seeming crazy.
Hmm. How bout you can't...so stop trying!
And who cares if she found pictures of him on a bike with some chick? It is not her man. Her partner. Or her husband! She isn't even in a committed relationship with the dude.
So, how does she have the nerve to ask that type of question? When she is on a reality show based upon going out on as many dates as possible with various men. They are aware she is dating other men too. So, why does she think it appropriate to ask them who they are dating?
She needs to mind her own!
I understand the idea of wanting to know that you are on the same page as the person you are dating. It makes sense. But you cross the line when expect your date not to do, what you are doing.
You cannot expect someone to be fully committed to you, when you have one foot in and one foot outside of the door.
It is unrealistic and selfish to ask that of anyone, especially at such an early stage in your relationship.
It made me feel so embarrassed watching her ask these men if they were seeing other women, while they stared at her squeamish and uncomfortable looking! Then she says, "it's okay if you are...I just want to know!"
Is she for real?
If you haven't reached an intimate or serious stage in your relationship that's not the type of question, you should be asking that early in the game. However, if you believe you need to ask it for whatever reason...it probably isn't the type of person you should be dating in the first place. If you're that concerned about 'him' dating other people.
I have never asked any of my exes if they were dating anyone else in the early stages of our relationship, (1) because I was probably still dating others, (2) it wasn't serious enough to ask that question yet, or (3) they already informed me of their current dating status.
Now, of course it is important to find out things about your possible mate in the early stages of your relationship. Like if you are married. Were you married? Do you have children? What is it that you are looking for right now?
But asking them if they are dating anyone else at that moment is completely out of line!
Clearly, she is on a mission and does not want to waste her time.
We get it!
But she needs to calm that crazy down or she is going to scare these men away before she can get to know them.
I am going to go out on a whim here...and assume she is drilling them because she is afraid and wants to gain control of the situation by being 'in the know' of everything.
But it does not work that way!
At the end of the day when we date each other, we should remember that we cannot control what our date does, we cannot assume anything they do, we should not have any expectations, and we should never move too fast with them because it is just dating.
During the preview of her show Steve Harvey said curtly, "I know what's wrong with Chilli...what Chilli wants is too damn much!"
I could not agree with him anymore. I am ecstatic to see the episode with him in it.
I hope he talks some sense into her!

Phaedra
I'm on a roll about babies today. So, I just have one final thing to say about Phaedra from Housewives of Atlanta.
What the hell is wrong with her? She embarrasses me with her ignorance. She is suppose to be this successful lawyer, yet something is really wrong with her. Really wrong!
List of Things Wrong with Phaedra:
1) She believes her husband should shower her with material items instead of focusing on their emotional needs. 2) She just loves foie gras! 3) She thought it would be cute to suck on a pickle during her pregnant photo shoot. 4) She thinks putting confection sugar in her vajayjay makes it nice and sticky. 5) She doesn't know how far along she is in her pregnancy. 6) She plans to be induced during her seventh month of pregnancy. 7) She wears a white eyeliner on top of her mutli-colored eye shadows.
I just had to get this off my chest!
I wanted her to be the normal, smart, and sophisticated member of the group.
But no.
Guess I am still Team Kandi and Nene...
